2014 WeCanCode Hackathon
Los Angeles, Ca. – On November 29,2014, the WeCanCode Hackathon , will gather technology experts and programmers to devise innovative solutions aimed at strengthening communication, tourist experience and information access in Ensenada. The event is organized by Advancio, Inc. with support from CETYS University.
The Hackathon will have two pre-hackathon huddles, one on Nov. 27th and another Nov. 28th. The Hackathon will be on Saturday Nov.29th and will begin at 8:00am and run for 8 consecutive hours of non-stop coding.
The hackathon aims to develop applications that will help the community. A prospective concept that will be developed is a application that will enable community members to report potholes and rate the severity and suggested prioritization. This will help bring awareness to the issue and serve as an added resource for local goverment.
The hackathon will bring together a mix of technologists and thought leaders familiar with information technology in Ensenada. Additionally, it will give young technlogy enthusiast the opportunity to experience the eco-system of a hackathon and develop prototypes that address real life problems. Participants will then present their ideas to a panel of judges. Prizes will be awarded for the most innovative and useful apps. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

The event will kick off with a Pre-Hackathon session at 7 p.m. PST on Nov. 27th at Cetys University Ensenada Campus. The hackathon begins at 8 a.m. PST on Saturday, Nov. 29th.
